the lapel microphone has really low sensitivity, so in fact, you have to amplify the signal..
in post production with your video editing software. This is way better, because the microphone does not get overwhelmed and you don't get distortion.
Since it's so tiny, a piece of gaffer's tape holds it in the engine bay.

well, if you have wind noise, then you're going to get amplified wind noise..
and in some ways, it'll turn to what sounds like distortion as it's a cheap microphone (the one on the camcorder)
