Has anyone had success in getting good TCU software for L10/IPT upgrades?

As many of you know...
I have an '01 S4 Avant 5AT which is now equipped with TiAL/Bravo RS650 GT Turbos. The car has a full Level10 treatment, and the torque converter has been further enhanced with a 303 Motorsport seal. The current TCU has a GIAC TipChip in it, and I had been running full APR Stage III code in it. Somehow, the APR code reduces the general clunkiness of gear engagement, but I could still throw the transmission into limp mode at full power, when upshifting from 4th to 5th sometimes.
Anyway, the car has been back under the knife for some time now, but will be back under its own power tomorrow night!
We are developing a custom TCU at the moment. I don't want to say who, as I'd prefer to perfect mine before getting him mobbed with inquiries, but I have a spare TCU in the hands of a well known, well respected tuner at the moment. We are able to select shift points, line pressure, and soforth...
-Michael.

Applauds abounding!
Seriously, good to know that someone had the time and made the effort to pursue it - regardless of the outcome, TIA
Super busy lately, but I am very interested - waiting patiently...whenever it's ready

Well... the spare is on the bench and the preliminary guesstimate specs have been laid out...
...so I will get the TCU back shortly, with first guess. It will be socketed, so that changes will be simple to make...
No ETA... but work is definitely happening.

Full L10 rebuild here and it's smooth when using as DD
Transmission shifts are very smooth & even quick when driving the car 'normally' but it holds too long when at WOT before shifting; hunting is also an issue when using the shift gate at ~ 80% throttle and above to WOT
Nothing about the transmission is harsh, but when backing up & going from R to D there is a firm engagement (sometimes referred to as a clunk) and occasionally (only when the sift gate is in use - IOW, not in 'D') when coming to a stop it down shifts a little too hard into 1st.
My present setup: GIAC Stg 3 minus, full L10 rebuild & TC and GIAC Tip Chip

Everyone should pester these guys...
This solution would be absolutely IDEAL for those of us who are struggling with tuning for our S4 5ATs, and they already do the RWD version of the same transmission.
When last I spoke to them, they indicated that doing the development would not be difficult, but they don't see a large enough market for the result, to produce an ROI in the end. (It's a business decision rather than a technical one.)
Perhaps if enough of us are interested, and let them know, they will change their minds...<ul><li><a href="http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/content-4.html">http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/content-4.html</a</li></ul>

doesnt matter if the shift are smooth you need something to increase line pressure

to hold the extra stress or you shorten the life of your transmission. ask the domestic guys or the truck guys if you want to know more about strong auto transmission
more time delay during shift = more slip and heat = decreased atf life = decreased transmission life
recode,
TC,
Valve body,
amsoil ATF
upgrade cooler w/ thermo
= happier transmission
