Default The turbo is definitely on the way out...

The TBB was torn (half the circumference tear at the TB opening edge, where the clamp goes). I'm convinced that the clamps are the problem. Their sharp edges dig in too much (even the revised clamp), and when the TBB expands, it cuts in.

I have the turbo is blowing noise. I'm just hanging on until after the ALMS Laguna Seca. I need this car for the event.

Afterwards, I'm going to take her in to surgery. The right (passenger) side turbo is making the tea kettle noise. The turbo probably over spun due to the leak. I replaced the TBB hoping the turbo lasts a couple of more weeks.

The car is making power though, but the dreaded noise is there.

Default Why is there a need for this?

I haven't seen anybody blowing TBB for a while now.

But I'm just not ANYBODY. Yes, it's true, there are plenty of 2001 people with torn TBB (x-ricer?)

either way, i think the APR BiPipe uses a rubber seal of sorts between the TB and the pipe...

Forgot about the bolt. You are right about ease of replacing singular parts though.

Default Did you have the regular Audi TBB or the AMS reinforced one? Also...

I wouldn't worry much about the tea kettle noise... quite a few people have it (I've had it since forever and that's with the stock ECU).

Default I had the stock one all this time, and since it blew, put on the AMS one...

The AMS one is a hefty piece, and I don't think anyone would have problems as it is so well reinforced (with Kevlar).

I think I need whatever fix be out of sight/out of mind.

You're not just anybody? Please explain this seemingly cocky and arrogant statement.
