has anyone successfully defended a speeding ticket where the cop used laser?
and i am not talking about when the cop didnt show up. did you use the NJ Judge Reginald Stanton ruling if the distance the cop clocked you at was greater than 1000 ft? did you use the specs on the laser gun, where the laser beam is greater than 3 feet wide at 1000ft? i am doing some research for a defense next month.

Yes, definitely keep us posted. Thanks.
A friend of mine just gave me a book called "how to beat traffic tickets" or something like that but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'll do a quick scan through it and post if I find anything useful.

Good luck, but most judges at the initial hearing will discount whatever you say
regardless of whether you're right. They hear so many excuses every day that they're used to not paying much attention. Don't be surprised if you lose despite having a good case.

well there are 3 methods to calibrate a laser gun
and all 3 must be used....
1) the self test button and the results should show "8.8.8.8"
2) Point the unit at a stationary target and the reading should report "0 mph"
3) The audio and sight tones should be tested be sweeping across a telephone pole.

They are required to have a calibration sheet that is done at the manufacturer
at least every 6 months... they can not calibrate laser's themselves(the departments.) Believe it or not, they do slip up on this piece alot.
