Has anyone successfully remedied the "won't go in 1st gear sometimes" problem without a rebuild?
Mine seems to be getting worse and worse. About 25% of the time, it won't engage first when sitting still - just feel like something is blocking. If I put it in another gear then try first again, it always works.

make sure i didnt brake a tranny mount and try re-aligning the shifter. i had this problem for...
about 7 months before i replaced the tranny. If i drop it easy for a month or so it would just about remedy it self but as soon as i did some heavy driving between 1st and 2nd it would start to get bad again.

Eventually it got so bad though that I had to just have it re-built. Probablly cost a LOT LOT more because of waiting than it would have if I had just had it fixed right away.
