has Porsche lost focus? is it a threat to the Audi brand?
there are rumors that they're upset about the R8 (even more so about the S version being able to best the 911 turbo) and the possible production of an R4 and it's likely cannibalizing cayman sales.
they now have controlling interest in VW. do they fear audi enough to influence (kill) future projects? they have repeatedly denied any interest in Audi or in influencing the Audi brand.
<a href="http://carsguide.news.com.au/site/motoring-news/story/porsche_accuses_nissan_of_cheating_at_nurburgring/"> now publicly whining about the GT-R? </a>
and the panamera is... an abomination.

what are they doing in stuttgart?? SUVs and Saloons?
WTF Porsche?
I miss the 993.

R3 not R4 and Porsche will have their own turbo 4cyl. version on that platform, as does VW.
and the V10 R8 will never deeply impact the sales off 911 Turbo variants. Sure, their will be some customer who choose the R8 but there are MANY loyal P-car owners. Not too mention the modability of the 911 Turbo variants. They'll just have to re-up their game.
Panemera=Overpriced Trash.
and I love 993s too, but I don't think I could handle the dated interior. 996s sell for the same price but I do love the 993, as do most purists.

Is calling Nissan out for cheating really "whining?"
You know that nobody who has tested the GT-R at the 'Ring has come even close to Nissan's times?
Porsche's time for the GT-R is inline with what everyone else who has tested it has seen. On Top Gear Australia, they found the GT-R to be only 3% faster than a base level 911 with PDK on their little test course.

With today's car market, the line between a pure breed sportscar vs. a high performance sedan....
has became very blurry. Buyers that desire performance are no longer "forced" to buy a two door sportscar or coupe. All maunfactures have to evolve in order to survive in today's market, even Ferrari is not immuned to this, just not to the extend of what Porsche had to do.
In the modern era, with the exception of the famed 959 and the CGT, unlike Ferrari or Lamborghini, Porsches are never really viewed as an exotic anymore especially with them entering the SUV market, which is what saved Porsche from the brink of extinction not too long ago, the very same marketing stretegy may have allowed them to survive as a company have also severly diluted the purity of the brand.
Should Porsche does indeed take over the control of all of the daughter companies of VW, IMO, it would be wise for them to re-evaluate every brand and decide on the purpose of each, such as VW for the average car market, Audi for the luxury, sports sedan market, Bently for the ultra luxury, Lamborghini for the exotic sports car and Porsche going back to its roots and be the sportscar builder they once were and leave the SUVs and the sedans to their other branches.
