Default Just couldn't do the high ceilings...

If I get a lift, it'll be one of those waist-high low profile jobs. I need the house first, then tools, then cabinets, then (everyfreakinthingelse)...

Default My 2 post lift is usable with a 9'-6" ceiling

I have a low profile 2 post lift that is about 8' high. With a 9-6 ceiling I can't lift the car high enough to stand under it, but I can sit on a stool under the car. Way better than jackstands and more access than one of the scissor lifts!

Default Info inside

I have an autolifters low profile 8000 lift. Autolifters went out of business last year, but some of the employees started a new company producing the same lift, link below. When I got it, it was the only low profile lift I could find. Now, other companies offer them, like rotary. The rotary lift looks nicer, but it is also more bucks. What I liked about the autolifters is that it's american made, meets safety standards, and the company was oriented to the do-it-yourselfer. You can order direct from company, cost is about 2500 plus a couple hundred shipping. I installed it myself. Two people can tilt a post into position, although the complete shipping package is around 1000 lbs. I hauled it with a tilt trailer and used an engine hoist to move the pieces around.

Also attached is a pic. If you look close in the clutter you can see the red, roll around stool I sit on under the car.

hope that helps,
