If you mount the rack feet where the arrows say on the car, the wind deflector edge (if used) rests on the roof between the windshield and the sunroof. After one extended trip, that edge put tiny scratches across the entire contact area.
I now mount the rack a few inches forward of the recommended location so that the wind deflector edge rests against the windshield. You could put a strip of Stonegard type material across the leading edge of the roof too for protection.
Secondly, the rubber feet leave a residue on the paint that is very difficult to remove. I would recommend mounting some 'pads' of Stonegard type material here too in order to protect the paint in those areas.
Other than that, no problems. The rack functions perfectly. The wind fairing is a godsend for eliminating noise and improving gas mileage.

I have wondered whether it's possible to carry a kayak on an S4. I have seen an Imola in Georgetown, D.C. with a custom boat-carrying rack (rowing shell?). Unfortunately I can't figure out any place to attach bow/stern lines on this car.
