Default Have you noticed the poor paint quality on the newer cars in the form of Orange Peal....
I checked out a brand new S5 and the thing was very nice but the paint job looked like it was done by a sorry body shop. Lots of orange peal everywhere. Then my buddy came over in his brand new 335I, yet another nice car, and that had orange peal all over it. My almost 7 year old S4 and my other buddies b6 S4 have great paint no peal. Anybody else notice this on other "higher" end cars.

My brother's new Tahoe is ridiculously orange-peeled, but I wouldn't call it high end.

I was looking at the new Land Cruiser and the paint is just horrible!! I agree 100%

Default Yep... Audi/BMW/Merc paint is all sub-par now for some reason or another.
My new '07 Pathy is the same, med blue with orange peel... not necessarily high end but still disappointing on a $38K truck.

All minor problems fixed (axle, windows, control arms)... just trying to figure out the upgrade path.

Default I've read that auto makers have had to change the chemicals in paints for environmental reasons
over the years. This has caused the degradation in paint jobs.
