Default Having trouble recoding the remotes after changing door lock pump.

I replaced my door lock pump (in the trunk) today, and now I can't seem to get the new pump to recognize my remotes. I RTFM and STFA'd, both of which telling me to push one of the remote buttons and then lock the driver's door with the key within 60 seconds. I tried all kinds of variations of this also (push button while turning key, etc.), but nothing is working.

I RTFM further, and it alludes to a reactivation procedure (sounds like something different than a simple recode) to be done by the Audi dealer if equipment is changed. However, my dealer is filled with a bunch of monkeys, and I'm happily out of warranty, so they won't be any help.

I looked on the Ross-Tech site, but didn't find anything there, either. Any suggestions?

Could this possibly be related to my super-secret Toy Guy security mod? If you don't know what that is, don't ask, because I'm not going to tell you. But for those in the know, they may understand why this may be relevant. I suppose that I could temporarily undo it, but I'd rather eliminate other avenues first. Thanks!

Default Hmm, Email me if you run out of options, we can bounce some ideas around...

Since it sounds like the problem is security related.

Default Nevermind. I figured it out. (more)

I found this tech article, but it still wasn't working. I then tried turning the key in the ignition to the 'on' position (two clicks), not just one click towards the 'on' position. As soon as I did that, it worked. However, to recode both remotes, I had to press the unlock button twice for the first remote (neither remote worked at first), and then repeat the procedure for the second remote, pushing the unlock button only once the second time (one remote was working at that point). As soon as I did that, it worked. A bit confusing, but I'm glad I figured it out. Audi really should have put this simple procedure in the manual...
