But does it actually increase performance? Don't see how it would. Anyone???

Default Good Question... expanding water vapor? ;)

Maybe a poor man's water injection? Reducing knock and preventing it from retarding timing?

Just a guess...

Default Humidity cools combustion and keeps temps down as well. Ever heard of water injection?

Many ralley cars use it and it is available on WRX STI versions, and no, I'm not talking about intercooler misters.

Default Are you sure all ECUs do? My MTM did, my ABT does not (at least not in 20 deg weather)

It was still hitting 18psi of boost.

Keeping cool I understand, but is there any noticeable performance gain?

no, humid air has less O2 (water vapor displaces O2)

you get the most power with low altitude, low humidity, low temp, high barometric,...

Default humidity does not cool combustion like water injection.

water injectors cool because the water vaporizes and evaporates into the air. If the air is more humid then there is less evaporation into the ambient air. Think of a swamp cooler operating in a 100 degree dry air and a swamp cooler in 100 degree humid air. The one in the dry air will be much more efficient.
