Time to spend a few bucks on a boost gauge.

Default If boost is in fact going down to 1/2, something is wrong...

my car definitely heatsoaks, and intercoolers are next on the list, but even after 20+ minutes on the track in 90+ heat, I was still pulling on E46 M3's.

Default Re: Most common thing heard here is that people see less boost when cold out than when hot.

how is that possible? Cooler air should be great for turbo boost, unless the car and turbo is not warmed up yet.

Default My gauge shows .71 bar for peak and levels at .62 bar.

Once the car gets heat soaked, it goes to around .4 bar. But it only happens if after a hard drive and i stop the car for awhile and restart again, it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes before the boost will come back again. If I continue on the highway and don't stop, no boost problem at all. I have a turbo timer and a boost gauge.

Got one and a turbo timer too, that's how I know the boost is low!

Default CAN ANYONE PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!?!?

Can the computer lower the boost level due to high IAT?!? or heat soak from the ICs actually lowers the boost by increasing the IAT and increasing the volumn of air?

That's the question of the day...

Default I've never heard of the ECU doing that, and my experience directly indicates that it doesn't.

Sounds to me like you have another issue going on.
