Default IIRC...

it is because the ECU requests a certain torque value, and colder air provides that torque with less boost than hot air.

Default 150 deg F iat is a little conservative if you think that is an extreme for our cars.

Our ICs suffer severe heat soak in stop and go traffic combined with high ambient temps with the a/c on. I've seen my IC temps (note there is a difference between IC temps and IATs) peg out my IC temp gauge at 158 deg F while waiting in line at a drive thru window. Now imagine stomping on the loud pedal and boosting to 15 or so psi with ambient temps already at 90 degrees and you ICs are 150 degrees. You could almost boil water in your intake. I don't think you are suffering from a loss of boost, but from massive timing retard as a result of really high intake temps.
FWIW I've noticed that IC heatsoak in hot weather with the a/c on is worse with the belly pan in place if you are in stop and go traffic.

Default Yup. Not all cars do this, but I do notice slightly less boost in real cold temps.

Cars seem to be able to control boost better (less of a spike between shifts) as compared to 90 degree days.

My boost increases with heat. Maybe you're getting throttle cut for some reason in heat. Log time!

Default Good answer Ochlockonee!!

Since I've checked all the common places for boost leak, no check engine light and I have full boost before the car gets too hot, so your answer of high IAT cause timing retard makes a lot of sense. and come to think of the physics of gas in with relation to temp, volumn, and pressure. It's all possible.
Time to figure out a way to cool down those stock ICs. Really want to get the front mount ICs, but 2200 is not in my range yet!

His FMIC looks good, better than DUH, is that a kit?
