Car and driver obviously couldn't totally discount the passport 8500 but they did their best to. In fact, the guy who owns valentine one also has connections with car and driver magazine. That's what the V1 always scores EXCEPTIONALLY well in their mag. It's a great detector, but check out other reviews like www.radartest.com or speedzones etc.
