Help - Anyone have a problem with the car not starting and then works the next day?
Bought the car Feb 2001, stock chip, manual trans, gas tank half full, and last night I tried starting and it wouldn't turn over. I turned the key in the aux position, pressed on the clutch, and tried starting. I was in neutral too, and it wouldn't start at all.
Tried it 3 times. I drove it fine just a couple hours before that. Then 4 hours later after failing it starts fine. Strangest thing. Battery?

throttle body, ecu, starter are 3 possible problem areas.
Since you said your ECU is stock, it sounds more likely like the starter, because a problem with the TB would render strange results WHILE driving as well.

some have had bad clutch pedal switches (name?) - basically, the car.........
does not know you're pushing the clutch down and will not turn over.
This is a possibility - not sure how to test it but if you search there is some info I believe.
