Default Been having the following things happen intermittently:

*leave ecu in program 2 & reverts back to program 1
*go to start car, no c/e light or epc light (car cranks over, fuel pump working, no joy)
*set anti-theft, go to start car, no c/e or epc lights, need to re-arm anti theft and disarm it again, start car.

Default This started happening recently correct?

You didn't have trouble before IIRC. I wonder if there's a bad pin on your ECU? Have you tried wiggling the harness that connects to the ECU to see if it does anything? Odds are it's something with that ECU (APR chip or the ECU itself) and not the cars electrical system...then again, anything is possible with this car.

Anybody near you w/ an A box APR that you could swap with to see if this problem happens to them?

Default yes, recently (about three weeks ago)...ecu went back to APR, was given a clean

bill of health (bench checked, all programs working as intended "kind of sounds like a response from an audi dealership service department", chip soldered securely)
original oem ecu works fine, no "loss of power" issues.
good idea to try someone else's APR chipped A box ecu.
Perhaps, I might approach APR, have them send me a chipped A box ecu (after receipt of mine, naturally) and see if that is the problem or if it is really a loss of power issue.
i will try the contact cleaner tomorrow morning, i really can't f*ck around with the car tonight, it's my son's birthday today (family time)

Default It's behavng like there's a bad piece of NVRAM somewhere...

It's not holding state, and reverting to defaults. NVRAM is suspect, to me.

Default

please put that in layman's terms: you mean like loss of power to hold memory?

No. NVRAM doesn't require power.

NVRAM = Non Volatile Random Access Memory. Formerly Static RAM.

Default tonight's experience: went out to start car prior to leaving work...

turn ignition key to run position, all idiot lights come on immediately, including c/e and epc lights. (don't forget, i had the ignition key in the run position earlier this afternoon when i was checking the volt gauge)
car fires right up.
try to access the program changes through the cruise control stalk, no joy.
set the anti-theft, shut car off, turn ignition to run position, enter un-unlock anti-theft pin (code), start car, no problem accessing programs, let car run a few minutes, shut car off.
go back into business to lock up for the night.
back out to car (about ten minutes later), turn key, starts right up, no problem accessing programs.
drive home using 93 program (happy, happy, joy, joy)
will clean ecu connections with contact cleaner after i get to work tomorrow morning.
will post outcome to this thread tomorrow evening.

NVRAM is Flash, not SRAM.
