Default Help diagnosing odd noise from driver's side front wheel...

Noticed while I was driving last night an odd noise -- sounded like a series of small rocks caught in the tire (whirring/zipping noise) that was both speed sensitive and load sensitive (turning right = noise, turning left = no noise).

I carefully examined the tire inside and out, and looked inside the wheel/towards the suspension to see if anything was caught, but can't see anything in particular.

Is this potentially a bad wheel bearing or something of the like? Has anyone had something like this happen and had it diagnosed?

thanks,

-s (my cars hate me)

Default What kind of suspension?

I had a weird metal on metal noise after jacking up my car coming from the passenger front only when the wheel was turned hard left. I suspect its my blown front shock that I just replaced. No noise now.

Default check the brake rotor,

I once had a small pebble stuck between the rotor and the splash shield on the inside. Made a similar sound.

Default BTW after a couple of days the sound went away but I swapped out the shocks anyway.

It could also be your swaybars are out of wack. Did you have your car on a jack or lifted?

same here. Turning right vs. left affected the sound also.
