HELP: Dropped key FOB in water...
#3
new key fob <$100, don't remember exactly how much though.
another thing you can do is let it dry thouroghly (SP);
& take it back to Audi & complain the it doesnt work; I heard of them replacing them under waranty.
I know - unethical, but whatever.

Re: drying key
Probably best to open the case before trying to dry it. Use a low setting on a hair drying will work.
I've dropped pagers into water a couple of times. If you dry them out right away it does not appear to hurt them.

Remove battery, allow to dry, get new battery, resync to car, cross fingers
If you leave it long enough, it may dry out. In texas, I'd just leave it out in the sun for a couple of days... elsewhere you might have to look for an oven you can heat to 120 or so...or a heat lamp.
Once it's positively dry, you can try it again, but you will need to resynce it with the rolling codes in the car....search and you'll find how.
