Help, flashloader doesn't work. I STFA
I recently purchased giac chipped(or flashed) a box ecu with pump/race program(per seller)+flashloader.
I put ecu today and flashloader doesnt seem to work as I seen the video in awe website.
I press read button and busy-led(red) flashes for a while and read button-led(green) keep flashing. same happens for all other buttons-pump,stock,race,valet....etc.
as I read the flashloader manual, the connection to the ECU fails..why, I dont know.
I have turbo-timer installed and I'm wondering this has anything to do with it?

Turbo timer doesn't have anything to do with it...
double check and hook up the dongle and put the cars power on but not the car started, make sure you have a good connection to the obdii port. Then try the the read button a few times.
Mine always took a while to get it going. If that doesn't work do you have a VAG cable? because you can download the computer flashloader online and use it through the vagcom. If this doesn't work I'd say disconnect the ECU and try again. Even if the ECU only has 1 program it would still show up on the flashloader, so I don't think you got worked on the ECU, the flashloader probably just has a bad connection.

do you own a RossTech cable? did you try to change program using GIAC free program?
with a K-Line compatible cable (USB) that you connect to your laptop you can change the program on your ECU. The download is free (see GIAC website).
If you have problem connecting your Flashloader, make sure you turn off the key before you insert the cable into the OBDII connector. Then turn the key to ON position, press the READ button on your FL then wait, it will flash a few seconds then a LED will show you the current program. Press the new desired program (valet/kill/race) then wait a bit, the new program LED will turn on. Finally turn off the key, then unplug the Flashloader. I use mine all the time (KILL) and it works great. I have the latest version 1.0.0.5 which allows me to change the boost controller level from 0-255 (210 now) if you have the boost controller option of course.
Good luck!<ul><li><a href="http://www.giacusa.com/flashloader_handheld.php">http://www.giacusa.com/flashloader_handheld.php</a</li></ul>
