Default Help!!! found a NEST in my engine bay!

Found a nest in my engine bay! Was checking out my TBB today when i looked off to the right and behind it. Low and behold leaves. Tons of them. Plus it looks like stringly like insulation that a rat or squirel would use! Went over to the car wash area in my neighborhood to use the vaccum. Brought a hose attachment with me that was smaller but not much small and just palmed it onto the larger shop vac size attachment.

Pulled out most of it but there is still a bunch of crap there. Concerned about an engine fire or something. Anyone in SE PA have a shop vac or a vac with very narrow and long attachments???

I need to get this crap out ASAP. It much be left over from the previous owner because this car is driven daily so I dont see how one of those critters would have time to build something like this up.

Anyone suggest using a leaf blower? Afraid it will push the leaves back further under the Air Intake Manifolds.

The bulk of this crap from what I can tell is right under intake manifolds between that and the block. I found most of the material under the throttle body.

Any suggestions?

Default I had the same thing, because my car sat for a long long time 2 winters ago...

Piggie just laughed his **** off while I removed it (must have been a mouse). It used leaves, branches, cigarette butts, and anything else it could get it's hands on lol

Default Duct tape some 1" hose to the end of the vacuum...

That should be long and thin enough to get down into the crevices. It may clog up frequently, but you can pull the hose up and pick stuff off the end up it by hand if you need to. Get thee to pep boys....

Default Same here, Mouse nest. Vacuum or clothes hanger works

With a clothes hanger it takes awhile and you have to be careful not to pull on any wires. If all fails, high pressure air hose.
