...if you're shopping for a 7-series or an A8-series you want luxury accomodations for 4 full sized adults. If you don't really need that, get a 5-series or an A6. The S8 is not really too spacious. On the other hand, at 6'5" I can comfortably fit in the back seat of 750iL. I cannot do that in an S8. If there was a choice to get the A8L 6.0 I would consider that. The same reason above is why I would get an A6 over a 5-series. The 5-series has no backseat that's comfortable for adults. The A6 does.

Actually, they did the 740i, not the 750 (only a difference of 1 honda engine )

Read the new R&T, S8, S55, 740i comparo. No mention of poor quality at all.

The backseat is huge, the standard equipment is unsurpassed and you get Quattro. And design wise it is way nicer than a 7 Series.
