Not sure what happened, but I think somebody walking past my car in a parking lot must have caught a piece of clothing, purse or bag on the trim piece around the rear-side glass on my car (Avant) at the point where the trim stops for the door opening. The trim has an ever-so-slight protrusion from the rubber seal to which it's attached, so hooking something on it's not out of the question (I've had towels get caught on that piece when drying).
When I took my kid out of the car it was fine; when I returned it was sticking out, almost like someone was trying to steal it ... except that I was in my neighborhood community pool parking lot at 11:30 AM on a Thursday, so I seriously doubt malice was involved.
Anyway ... how do I re-attach that piece? There are little "clips" on the backside that appear to join the rubber weather strip to which it affixes but I can't get it to stay on.
