Default HELP!...How do you get rotors off?...

I'm currently doing my brakes and can't figure out how to get the rotors off. This is my first non-american car so I'm a little confused and the bently manual doesn't say. Is it the big 14mm allen?

Thanks!

If you have the wheel off and the caliper, you probably need to whack it w/ a rubber malet.

Sounds like he's trying to remove the caliper first.

Default If he were to STF he would find some good stuff, that was plenty enough for me and I'm no brake

expert.

Default Wheel is off, caliper is off, brake pad carrier still there...

there is this mysterious 14mm allen that appears to hold the rotor on, but others tell me it has no functionality. Don't know, confused!

Thanks guys!

Any ideas?

Default Rubber malet to the front and back of the rotor should loosen it, try some penetrating oil also,

rotors tend to stick over time.

Default There are two bolts that hold the caliper to the wheel bearing housing..

Remove those, and there is nothing but rust holding the rotor in place. A prybar should make quick work of the rotor.

Default you must remove the caliper first to remove the rotor.

this holds true for the front and rear.
