Default Help.. I accidently ran leaded gas!

Hello everyone,

I've been getting alot of help over at audizine but I figured I'd ask here as well. I accidently ran a 50/50 mixture of leaded gas yesterday thinking it was unleaded performance fuel. Now my 02 sensors keep throwing up an error code. (I've had it cleared and it relit) Can I pull this one over on the dealer or will they know what happened immediately? Infact would they void my whole warranty for running improper fuel?

thanks in advance,
Jon

Default Worst case scenario is the O2 sensor are toast and not covered - unless the cat got cooked, but I

think if that happened you would feel a loss of performance. Those are the only parts that should be effected.

Default O2 sensors may clear after a while...

Pretty sure the cats won't like the lead though and will need replacment. I'd give it two or three tankfulls and see. It may also be a good idea to drain the gastank.

There's definately been a loss of performance.. It turned from a banshee last night into pretty much stock like performance..

Default You might have a big melted brick inside your cats. I find it hard to believe that half a tank would

be enough to hurt anything. I know when I had an Eclipse the DSM guys ran race gas (w/o a cat) all the time and it took a long time for it to hurt the O2 sensors. Maybe the Audi units are not as tough.

Default would be hard for me to believe that the parts would tank after 1 tank of leaded was used

In my stupid day thinking that aircraft low lead was okay to use, I ran it quite often with no issues in my obd2 car.. Don't run that **** in your car though, it's worse then normal leaded gasoline

Default agreed, They shouldn't fix this for free but should they *void* the entire engine warranty b/c of

this incident??
