Help! I can't put the maf senor back with the airbox.
I decided to put a k&n today and everything was going fine until I try to put everything back together. I can't get the maf sensor back in the tube. The damn o-ring's being a PITA. Anyone have suggestions?

If K&N is such a well-known/well-developed company, why would they happen to be so bad for an Audi?
just wondering what your back-up info is since i've seen you down the K&N a couple of times.
(is it supposedly bad for the turbos.?)
just b/c a filter may be more "see-through" and SEEM like it's not filtering well, doesn't mean it isn't.
they use these filters on some figther jets from what i've heard.
the key is to make sure its always kept clean and well oiled.
just wondering =)

ALSO....
there is a professional turbo shop near me that works on porshe turbos, ferraris, lambos, lotus, bentley, etc....
and all the mechanics recommended the K&N filter to me. they put them on all of their modified porsche's.
i doubt any HP increase, but it should filter better and save money down the road from having to buy a new filter.

I haven't seen many fighter jets w/ a giant K&N....
on the inlets.
Seriously...
How do they increase flow with the same surface area? Bigger holes. with oil on the fibers to try and catch stuff as it flies by.
I would like to see data on how the filter perfoms doing what it should....protecting your engine! If there are no performance gains, why risk the potential damage? If the RS4 does in fact have the same filter, I think the engineers at Audi are saying that it flows plenty.

do itg air filters have the same issues? seem thicker than the K&N's.

This rumor probably originated from someone who...
...improperly reoiled their K&N by dousing it in the oil. Properly oiled (not soggy!) no oil is going to come flying off the filter.

just two words
Had K&Ns on EVERY fully tricked turbo I have ever owned. Included cones and panels. This included several Eclipses, 3000GT VR4, Supras...and never had a MAF issue.
So, is this really a K&N issue or just A) improper use and maintenance of the K&N B) another "questionable" Audi design (ala TBB or BPV).
Just for my info, is the ITG filters any better.
