I dug out my GTI from the blizzard today and I saw some drops of bright yellow fluid on the snow underneath it. I checked all my levels and they all look ok. Anyone have any idea what it might be??

it's Brake Fluid, PS Fluid, or melted cosmoline (underbody waxy protectant)

was off and outside temp was below freezing. It was due to contraction of one of the hoses; as soon as the engine warmed up it would stop and NEVER leaked under pressure. Tightening the hose clamps stopped the leak eventually. The non-leaking under pressure resulted in only a very small amount (negligible) of coolant being lost...could be your situation. I would think PS fluid would be very dull in color, almost like fresh motor oil.

Coolant is pink. I'm thinking maybe tranny???
