I just had dinner with my father who told me that his Mercedes Benz 560SL has begun acting up on him. Now this thing is getting on in years, it was purchased new in 1989 the last year MB made that particular model. His friends and clients are always asking if he'd like to sell it but my father's a pretty old fashioned guy (though he's only 44) he feels that if it aint broke don't fix it. Now I absolutlly LOVE my A4 1.8T so of course I'm trying to sell him on an S4. It's been an uphill battle but I think I'm making forward progress. His problem right now is $$$. He paid just over 90,000 (Cdn) for his car and feels that automatically makes it better then an S4 which is less expensive (I know I know) so far I've tried the following but I figure if anyone could give me data to sell him on an S4 it's you guys.

1) QUATTRO - having it my own car I know what a big bonus it is. He currently garages his MB in the winters and has to keep an SUV on lease for the snowy season. Buying the S4 would mean he'd have a superiour winter AND summer driving machine

2) SPEED SPEED SPEED - though his MB has a massive 8 cylinder 5.6 Litre engine, having driven it there is no doubt in my mind that a stock S4 would leave it (and it's auto tranny) in the dust. This leads to the third point I gave him.

3) GAS - V6 twin turbo can't be nearly the gas guzzler that beast is.

I know it's a strange request but my father works himself ragged and never spends money on himself unless really pushed. What else should I say? Any hard data?
