help: stfa... and can't find if/how to bleed power steering system
#2
well i dunno if the procedure is the same..but on my 90Q....
basically you fill the fluid to "full" line, jack up the front of the car so both wheels are off the ground. Turn the igntion to ON, then turn the wheel lock to lock several times. Check the fluid again, refill if necessary, and repeat, turning steering wheel lock to lock several more times....lower car onto level ground and check fluid again.

Yes this is the procedure in the S4 Bentley
With the engine off and key on and weight off the wheels, turn the key lock to lock 10 times. This will bleed the air from the system.

Here's what I did...
There is no manual bleeding process per say.
Fill power steering reservoir 50% with new fluid once hoses are connected.
Run the car for a minute or so. Power steering fluid will be 'frothy' - give the bubbles a chance to dissipate. Top up the fluid.
Repeat above 4-5 times until fluid is without bubbles... make sure you check the final level with the mini dip-stick. Gently 'tap' the reservoir to speed up the process.
