Default heh...

How did you kill it? Excessive use? From what I recall last, you weren't injecting any methonal, so that wasn't it, right?

As for the accumulators, I need to post on the Aquamist forum. As I understand their function, they can only provide water in the case of air entering the system. They can not increase the flow if there's already constant water flowing. So, I'm not sure they can help if jets are chosen too large. Actually, now that I type this out, I'm thinking more about their operation. If when the system is idle, the pump pressurizes them to ~100psi, and if the jets are too big that constantly running the pump supplies less than 60psi, the diaphram opens and pressurized water releases, then they would add value, even without the case of air entering the system.

Which size accumulator did you mean? If you meant the smaller one (30cc), I might opt for one of the larger ones (100cc) instead of two smaller ones as the large is listed at $81, instead of 2x$59. And I have a location that it will fit in.

small - 30cc - $59:

large - 100cc - $81:

Wow, amazing write-up. Like Troy said, logging knock voltages would be a good idea.

Default Nice write up. Thanks for the detailed testing. I've had my system (m)

for about a year now but have never really looked into testing the affects very much.

What level do you have it set to come on at?

If you need an accumulator email me, I got two of them with my kit and have only installed one. I probably won't use the second so I'd sell it for a reasonable price.

Default 8/30/04 - I added UPDATES to my original post. They include...

Here is the original post with the updates:
https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/1743767.phtml

The updates include:

...I will also take pics and update this post with:
- The FIA unit inside the car as well as the yellow LED and switch that I added (to turn the system off). They will reside on the the lower left section of the driver's knee bolster.
UPDATE 8/30/04 - Here they are:

The Yellow LED and Swith are mounted in a modified Radio Shack project box, and that unit and the FIA unit are mounted on either side of the OBDII port. I can see all 3 LEDs from the driver's position through the steering wheel:

- The engine bay with all covers in their proper locations.
UPDATE 8/30/04 - Here it is, looks mostly stock:

and

...Likewise, multiple gear runs would really show this off. Consider if I had started this 4th gear run at the end of the previous 3rd gear run. My starting temps of this run would already be 20F cooler, and by the end of this run I could be up to 40F cooler than a 3rd & 4th run without Aquamist. Now continue that thought and add in 1st and 2nd gears, and the difference gets bigger. (UPDATE 8/30/04 - I logged and added these results below)

...

UPDATE 8/30/04 - I logged a pair of 1st-4th gear runs (10mph-120mph) in 87F weather. I did this with Aquamist off, then again with it on, both times starting at the exact same location. Below are the results, once graphed with time as the x-axis and the other time with MPH. Notice the extrem difference - across this range, IAT increases by ~50F (127F to 177F) without Aquamist, but with Aquamist IAT only increases by ~20F (126F to 146F). As early as 40mph, there begins a drastic difference in the Intake Air Temperature.
