I guess most guys (and females, those of you who would go through this effort) go to this extreme, because radar detectors are illegal in your state. Here in Calif., we don't need to be so stealth as to hiding every aspect of a detector. Yes, we do care about concealment though to some degree, as not to give an officer a "reason" to pull you over or give you a ticket once he/she has. Even when legal, a radar detector will indicate that you have a propensity to speed and may be the determining factor on whether or not the cop writes you up.
