Default Here's why the new 4-wheel StopTech kit is priced at $5295

StopTech designed a totally new billet parking brake assembly that is exclusive to their kits. And, unlike the Brembo parking brake, which Mov'it uses, that only comes in one side configuration (right), the StopTech parking brake comes in left, right, leading, and trailing configurations. That measn that installation is much easier than the Mov'it. (Anyone else out there who has installed a mov'it 4-wheel kit will understand what I mean!) You won't have to reroute the parking brake cable on the driver's side to come over the top, like kits that use the Brembo parking brake. By the way, there used to be a left and right Brembo parking brake, but the left brake is apparently no longer available. The Mov'it kit comes with two right parking brakes.

The caliper is totally mechanical and uses a ratcheting mechanism for the piston which takes up slack as the pad wears.

Also, to address a few comments made in earlier posts about the 4-wheel kit:

The rear, 4-piston caliper uses very small pistons and the front calipers use larger pistons than the existing 2-wheel kit. Thus, the proper front/rear balance is maintained for optimum stopping distances AND the pedal feel is still excellent without requiring a change to the stock master cylinder.

Default Would this kit work on the S6????

This is probably the only "serious" mod I want to make before the year is out, considering how dry our winters are in the Pac. NW (yeah, right!)

Any opinions out there???

Default Consistent with info I have heard - an entirely new kit.

Not an addition to the existing 332mm version.

I understand that there are about to be rear end rotor upgrade options for those of us with the existing 332mm product, but new rear calipers are not part of the equation.

Default Also, one should note that the parking brake uses your standard GM brake pad (if this is still valid

...from their vehicle lineup that has been around for ages and still is. So that you don't have to go find obscure pads when it comes time for replacement.

Any new info on availability of new rear rotors for 332mm kits?
