you must ALWAYS claim what you are doing is required to make the car work.............
Also, another secret I've used with great success:
If the mod is less than $1000, then divide the cost by 3.
If it's more than $1000, then gently move the decimal over one spot.
Oh, and separate checking accounts help.
FWIW, find someone who doesn't care about your habit. My wife knows I love cars and knew it when she met me - I just did not have any $$$ at the time because I was still in school. Now, I do it to have fun.

Lol, think this will be a little easier once the warranty ends...
Cost is a problem though and creative accounting rules do apply here.
Stg3 and K04s may be a bit further off though, my pipes and stock ICs are bone dry.

The meaning of life - and negotiations...
Think after about year-three the me-me-me stuff ends and it becomes impossible to do what YOU want by normal bargaining tactics. The "whole" becomes the focus - "we don't need wheels" or "we don't need 'insert-part'" or or...
For some reason the reasoning does not work in opposite - "we don't need a patio" or "we don't need countertops" so I just do it but try to be covert for the most part, although not quite as covert as ordering an S4 and "just bringing it home" - its mine, I ordered/bought it. What do you think? No discussions required/warrantied. Sometimes you can't negotiate or reason for things...

i hear you there ... i live with my gf and i can't just do what i feel like doing
i still find ways to do it though, and it's getting harder bc. she started to observe the car now..
but i totally agree with you .. different tactics are needed ..and i'm learning
and hopefully she'll make things easier since xmas and my b-day are comming .
