higher first gear. better/worse? how would it be done?
I have driven the new lancer evo8, and it goes to about 40mph in first gear. I would like to know if there is a way to accellerate higher in first gear to at least 30mph? Is the only way by changing the overall gear ratio, or can i switch out the single first gear from some other car that is higher?
This would also solve the problem of broken 1/2 synchros. The jump is so huge, and first seems to go by just so fast : )

Buy an Exhaust. I've noticed after installing my Borla the car has a lot more power in 1st. Ther are
other exhaust like that have dual pipes all the way down too. And 3 inchers too. That's just one suggestion. I found I could wind out the gears a lot more now that the car can breathe a little better.
