Default Highly audible dentist drill noise means?

Today I started hearing a dentist drill-type noise coming from the car when at 3/4throttle/WOT. I never used to hear this noise before today. At first I thought it was coming from the radio, so I turned it off, and dropped a few gears and went WOT - still heard it. The car does not feel down on power at all, even in the 98+ degree weather here in FL.

I hope this is not the sound of my turbos going. I did a search and came up with different answers.
Any insights?

thanks

Default nothing

some turbo's make noise before they blow
some are totally silent even after they are blown

some cars make the Dentist Drill noise, from day one

my noise was always there and got louder about 10K miles ago..still running fine

I think this is the "tea kettle" noise I was talking about. My dealership says it is normal and not cause for alarm. I don't necessarily believe that... I think they are tired of replacing turbos (which this particular svc detp has done alot of) and from now on, they will not call noises a problem until something blows.

Noise only happens at WOT right? Same thing with mine and a few others I have been in.
