Highway 61 Revisited

Drove my car from Chicago to Duluth for the weekend with a longish detour up the bluffs of the Missisippi. There are some great driving roads on the way if you avoid 90/94 with nice curves and good straights (saw 125 on one short stretch with the car still pulling). But you don't have to go too fast: it's more like running a marathon, you just settle into a comfortable groove and keep the music changing while the V1 keeps a watchful eye out for you. Further north of Duluth there are more good driving roads if you follow the shore of Lake Superior - yes THAT Highway 61 - and find great views and wonderful eating places along the way. And to quote Mr. Z himself if you don't want to do the drive, well...
"We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun
And have it on Highway 61."
If you live in the North East or Mid-West now is a good time to be planning Fall drives - what's your Highway 61 going to be?
