Is the Hitachi MAF conversion required to run GIAC 3- programming in a 2000?

Question I've been researching myself...
I'm not sure what to think...

If you go GIAC 3- use the Hitachi... If you are going GIAC-X Homebrew stay A-box and run the bosch.
The GIAC 3- code is calibrated to run with the Hitachi MAF and a 5 bar FPR.
Since 2000 model A-box's come with a Bosch MAF you will need to recode your A-box to a M-box and run the Hitachi.
Homebrew and GIAC 3- are entirely different.
