Default hmmm... I'm debating whether or not to put the snow tires on!

I always drag my feet to put the snow tires on... but it's getting colder!! That and we're driving to missoula next week to visit my wife's family for thanksgiving!

*sigh* I better make an appointment to get them put on.

One fun thing about the snow tires is that you can get pretty good wheels spin on hard launches

You take it to WHERE to get them put on? Don't you do change them by yourself?

I'm guessing he has the tires mounted to his stock rims every year.

Default Yep...

I had a dedicated set of street rims (18" BBS RCs) but sold them due to the fact that they wouldn't fit over my stoptechs. I am waiting until spring to get another set of rims to replace them.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't you get more wheel spin with summer tires in cold weather?

Default Actually, I was referring to driving around on dry pavement in the normal weather

You can get some narsty wheels spin

in the snow or sub 32degree weather you'd have to be an IDIOT to drive around with summer tires. You'd have so much wheel spin that you would likely wreck the car!

Summer tires + snow/ice = asking to wreck your car

Default Unfortunately yes :( but they don't use Laser and I have a V1 :)

Last time I drove there (albeit in the summer) I spent a good portion of the drive at the 143 limiter

I averaged 93.x MPH from seattle to missoula INCLUDING all stops and slowing for known speed traps/big cities. hehe

Default ... and I'm sure you've NEVER tried that!!! :)

... I seem to remember you riding RE040's up to Snoqualmie pass w/ me & Kaplan behind you.

Just get a second set of wheels Josh! Oh, you traded those for StopTechs didn't you....

Sell the wifes Jeep? Maybe not...

Default hehe... yeah but I did that on purpose :)

and yes it was stupid, but I drove very carefully on the freeway (once we got into the snow that is)... Man that was a fun night!

Also, now that I have driven in the snow with them, I think it's safe for me to advise for people not to!

here's a pic from that night...
