Default Hmmm... The rev-limiter is my friend...

Today at the track I was having a tough time with the downshift from 4 to 3... I would blip the throttle and downshift, and then put my hands back on the wheel while I let the clutch out.

It seemed, a few times, that the car would pop out of 3rd and into neutral when I let the clutch out -- has anyone experienced this? At least 2 times I *know* I shifted past the notchy neutral and into 3rd, so the fact that I was in neutral meant it either kicked out or popped out or something. Never once I was actually in 3rd and on the power did it come out, so I'm not sure...

At least once, I noticed (when I got around to being ready to "notice" -- that is, through the corner), that I was banging the car off the rev limiter in neutral (er, about 7100 rpm) for 3 or 4 seconds... how bad is this on the engine? Hrm...

I need to get my damn shifts completed *way* earler, methinks...

Default Uh, Your Honda had no torque either. Had 4 Hondas myself, no way are they

ever taxed like the S4 tranny.

Default 1) Rev limiter set to prevent damage. Could probably bounce off all day if engine was warm w/o prob

2) You can drive on the track w/o any hard work for the tranny. There are two tracks that I run on....and I never get down to second gear. It's only 4th to 3rd and third to fourth most of the time....into 5th or 6th on the long straight at TWS.

That should be no harder on the tranny than any in-town stop and go traffic. The only thing the track works is tires...brakes...engine...and maybe some suspension parts.

Hondas are far superior to Audis in the tranny dept...

Default How many Honda transmissions have you owned which are 6-speeds handling 258 ft-lb of torque?

Let me guess: none.

It is EXACTLY the point! Torque stresses mechanical components, at least in the world I live in...

Default You're breaking my heart.

Sorry, but I love this car, and if people bag on it, I'll defend it.
