Default How "safe" is it to install an APR bar-1 chip without any other mods??

My 2001.5 has about 45,000 miles on it. I bought it used, though it is Audi Certified. I'm dying to chip it, but can't afford any other mods to beef up other internals at this time.

I drive hard, though probably not has hard as many people here. Is this a "safe" upgrade, or am I begging for trouble?

TIA!

Default don't worry about internals, upgrade pressure system components...

throttle body boot, bypass valves, hoses.

Those were the "internals" I meant (me=nOOB), but would you run without them with the chip?

Default No problem at all to run the chip without those upgraded, but keep your ears open for psssshhh sound

You can always upgrade them when they fail. They are relatively cheap compared to the rest of the Audi aftermarket parts.

Thanks. The chip isn't too taxing on the turbos? Definately cannot afford to replace those now!

Default Nah, not at all. Some people have run chipped for 100K+ miles. IMO...

All k03s aren't equal. Some people blow turbos on stock chip with less than 5k miles while others beat the crap out of their car (with a chip) for 10s of thousands of miles with no issues at all.

If you can't afford the consequences, don't chip

Uhhhhh....seems to me that I'm trying to understand the consequences, but thanks for the helpful remark.
