how big are rs6 turbo's compaired to gt28rs turbo's ? will they have similar lag?

Exaclty. Avoiding the L10 etc. crap. Hopefully a 6sp swap by the end of '07.

Default no they dont - full RS6 turbos have housings that are a good deal bigger than std RS4K04s
you'll see quite a bit more lag than you will with RS4K04 based turbos. how they compare to GT28RSs, i cant say.

RS6 less lag, with less power. GT28RS on C16 makes 635whp stock bottom end

Full RS6's shouldn't spool till after 4k or so.
