How can I repair a fuel line puncture?
#13
The connections are not removable.
They have heat-shrink tubing covers. I have been told that without this tubing the connections are likely to leak.
Also, Audi will not sell an individual fuel line. You have to purchase the whole set, including return lines.
Any other suggestions?
If I were to cut out that section and use a rubber hose and double clamps; what is the strongest hose type / best clamp type?

hmm that sucks. Can you take a pic of the damaged section? Try this...
What I would do is not easy. Assuming the damage is limited to a very small section I would cut the minimal amount away and double flare the ends and use compression fittings. Please note you can only remove as much as the fitting will replace in length. Now marvel in my crappy ms paint artwork.

I have a working solution.
I used reefer_bob's suggestion of a rubber hose. (I never though I would take the advice of someone with reefer in their screen name)
After inspecting the full length of the fuel line I found that there is a rubber section. It is clamped to the steel line in the engine bay. I went to the local Auto Union junk yard and got the same nylon reinforced rubber hose off a wrecked S4 for 5 chucks.
A couple of cuts and a couple of clamps at the point of the puncture and it is now as good as new.
