Can be done but takes major compromise
Power for power you can't beat the boxster due to lighter weight and better weight distribution. You can however build an S4 with more power that will outperform one assuming the track isn't too slow and twisty. However, you will end up with a more track dedicated car to do it and definately void your warranty. I can hang with boxster's at the track with my setup but get beaten slightly on top end by 996 C2's. This should change once stage 3 is done tomorrow!
Having owned two Porsche's I must say they are the best track capable cars stock I have ever driven. The S4 on the other hand in my opinion sucks as a track car in stock form: Too heavy, crap brakes and suspension. Even with a lot of changes the S4 can only beat the boxster with brute force and lacks the finesse of the porsche.
