How can you lose air pressure without puncturing the tire?

Default 2nd. I had a brand new T1R run flat on me on the hwy because of...

a faulty valve stem. The damn thing was dried and cracked. Finallly gave way after a few hard turns (I'm guessing). The tire shop forgot to replace my stems.

Default Solved: It was a bent valve stem core.

I suspect that the place that I had my tires mounted reused an old set of valve stems...one with a bent core. I replaced all 4 for good measure.
