If your using the line(speaker) inputs. You don't need the remote wire. According to the manual for the Basslink.

ok i will fish around this weekend and see if i can find a good spot- i should know by now with all the hours i spent this last weekend taking out the glove box to see if my a/c evaporator drain plug was blocked and sealing the pollen filter housing
