My ash tray will not come out when pushed. It is not a coin and I have removed the entire ash tray unit, but I cannot figure out how to get the drawer out of the housing to fix the spring.

There are two screw above when you open it. I believ you have to get the radio out and the hvac

I know it took me 15-20 minutes of looking at it to figure something out. I *think* I ended up prying a flat screwdriver between the end of the part that slides out and the housing, to unhook it from whatever piece holds it in.

Does it open at all? If so, maybe you can reach something in there and hook the flat spring loaded metal strip (that's rolled up at the center/top) and extend it, and get it hooked back into place.

Yes, it opens and closes, but the spring came unhooked from the case. The spring is rolled up behind the drawer and I cannot get at it. I was hoping to take the drawer out and re-attach the spring to the case. Thanks for your reply, I will try the pry method.

Correct, you have to remove radio and HVAC to access the screw to pull it out. PITA
