Default How do I reset a blinking BRAKE light on the instrument cluster?

I had all 4 rotors and brake pads replaced, but the local shop didn't know how to clear the blinking brake light. I have a VAG-COM, but can't find out how to clear the blinking light, if it's even possible.

Default Was the blinking light there before they changed the rotors and pads?

Why do you think the brake light would go away after changing them?

The only light that should go away after changing rotors and pads would be the low brake pad warning which illuminates on the center LCD screen of the instrument cluster. It is different than the blinking "BRAKE" light.

Default have you reset your codes? do you have any codes?

if that doesn't work, you might have a bad ABS module. make sure to check the ABS section on the VAGCOM as well.

Default I don't know if they bled the ABS unit. Is there a way to check?

And yes, my brake fluid level is just below the maximum.

Default Which codes are you referring to? Also, I am able to access the ABS control module using the VAG-COM

However, nothing seems out of the ordinary that I am aware of.

No DTCs have been thrown.

Default Yes, the blinking light was there before the rotor/pad change.

I thought that a blinking brake light was just a general warning that something was wrong with the brakes; apparently I was wrong.

What else, besides low brake fluid, would cause the blinking BRAKE light?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Default the (O) symbol means your brakes are in need of replacement. it doesn't blink.

if you STFA, you'll see that a bad ABS module can cause the blinking BRAKE light
