Did you remove the door panel first?

Default Yeah, I have everything out, including the plastic door pull.

Problem is... I can't get the buttons out of the door pull in order to paint them.

Default IIRC there are 2 or 3 small screws that had a reddish orange head on them

it was kinda of a PITA to get the thing out but it can be done.

Default info inside....

cant remember if there is one or two screws in the actual door handle (not the door pull but the oh **** handle), remove them, then it pops out when you press the clip towards the top (up near the mirror switch)and then it should slide right out. Then the window switches should just pop up. Put a cloth over the switch and push downwards. Now for the lock button on the drivers door pull has a red screw in the middle on the backside. Disconnect the tweeter wiring and the actual lock wiring. remove the door pull assembly and place it face down on a cloth and with a flathead you can remove the lock button. This may sound complicated but it really isnt. Should take no more then 10-15 minutes. Hope this is what you were asking about if not then my bad.
Good luck man.
If you do break anything let me know I have spare parts if you need them.

What exactly are you painting, the door pull or the plastic handle with the window switches?
