How does one get to the MAF to clean it? TIA for any input you may offer....

cleaning the maf may cause more probs than you already have. If it was a recommended repair, the dealerships would do it.....

The "powers that be" in GE have put a block on certain maf part #'s, and are swapping them out to get the bad ones sent back to them so they can try to rectify the problem. Have to call up & get authorization to order them now....

Remove the whole MAF housing, just undo the hose clamps and pop it out. Squirt some electronics cleaning fluid on the sensor (inside the housing). Let dry and replace.

It's not always "cleanable" - but it may forestall the need to replace it for a few weeks or more...It all depends on what the real problem was with it in the first place - oil/dirt or just a POS...
