Default How to fix sticky buttons?

A couple of my climate control buttons are sticky because some soda got behind them. What's the best way to clean them up? Can they be removed easily?

Default DOH!

I had the same thing happen, but I think the previous owner of the car spilled soda in there. I tried using Q-tips with water to unstick the buttons, and that only worked temporarily. Eventually the climate control unit failed, and kept blowing this certain fuse when I would replace it. When the fuse blew, my heated seats stopped working, along with my oil temp gauge, and the top bar of my trip computer, not to mention all climate controls. You're going to need to get that climate control unit replaced most likely. It's not cheap, somewhere around 1 grand! :\

Default LOL...no electrical contact cleaner.

non-conductive contact cleaner uses a combination of solvents and propellants to remove oil, dirt and moisture from the surface of contact points on small electrical equipment, controls, ignition systems, motors, relays and thermostats. Solvent flushes off oil, grease and metallic oxides caused by corrosion or arcing while leaving a clean, dry, residue free surface.

Default try some CRC Electronics cleaner... leaves no residue and is safe on electical components.

It works good, try your local auto parts store.

Default Spray 409 onto them.....

then place either a paper towel to draw out the fluid, then reapply.

OR

spray the 409, then use a shop vac (or a vac at the nearest gas station), to draw OUT the fluid.

Repeat until it sticks no more.
