Default Pretty straightforward on the 1.8T...

...would imagine it's close to the same on the S4. Move stuff outta the way so you can get to the top mount bolt (don't know how involved this step is on the 2.7t), lift engine a few inches, R&R mount. Something like that :-)

Default "close to the same on the s4"? You're comparing a I-4 to a V-6?

I have no idea since i've never seen 1.8 motor mounts, and have never done motor mounts with out taking out the engine... just seems like a bit of a stretch....

Default It is really, really hard. Probably involves pulling the subframe,

that is, if you just don't want to pull the motor. Now is a good time to install turbos....

Default Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.

You've never seen the 1.8T, and I've never seen the V6. Just relating my experience on the 1.8t. The mounts are exactly the same, but I bet you're right--much more work involved on the V6. Nobody else seems to have come forward to detail what needs to be done though.....?
